Paul Sherman, an announcer and reporter for WINS radio in New York for 38 years until his retirement two years ago, died Monday at his home in Coconut Creek, Fla. He was 66.
Mr. Sherman joined WINS as a music announcer in 1943, after working for a radio station in Newark. After the station converted to an all news format in 1965, Mr. Sherman served as an announcer, reporter and anchor.
Mr. Sherman was born in Brooklyn, and graduated from Queens College. He is survived by his wife, Bess; three sons, Robert Sherman and Peter Sherman of Manhattan and Marc Sherman of Atlanta; a sister, Janet Blechner of Memphis, and two grandchildren.
